Bingkai Karya-Lomba Sihir is back with a new single, “Tak Ada Waktu Tepat Untuk Berita Buruk.” This track follows their previous single, “Menit Tambahan,” and will be available on digital streaming platforms starting September 6, 2024.
This alternative-pop band is known for their thoughtful approach to music, and this new song continues that trend. Instead of being sarcastic, the band is focusing on a more reflective and honest tone with this track. The song is about how life’s troubles never come at convenient times, and sometimes, the randomness of bad news can even be a bit ironic.
Lomba Sihir explained that the idea for the song came from a piece of bad news one of the band members received. They realized that it’s impossible to be fully prepared for difficult situations because they always come unexpectedly. They found that sometimes, the unpredictability of these challenges can make them seem less devastating and even a bit funny.
“As the lyrics of this song suggest, the process of making ‘Tak Ada Waktu Tepat Untuk Berita Buruk’ began with bad news that suddenly came to one of our personnel,” said Lomba Sihir. “From there, we realized that humans can never fully prepare themselves mentally to face tragedy or disaster. Why? Because bad news never comes at the time we feel is right. Over time, we came to think that, ironically, unpredictable timing like that is what makes the misfortunes in this life. Sometimes, feel funny instead of heartbreaking.”
The band members, Rayhan Noor and Enrico Octaviano, produced the song themselves, aiming for a relaxed vibe. They wanted it to sound like a casual jam session rather than a polished studio production. Their goal was to make the song feel relatable and down-to-earth. Showing that everyone goes through tough times and sometimes, all you can do is laugh it off.
The Upcoming Second Album
“Tak Ada Waktu Tepat Untuk Berita Buruk” also gives a glimpse of what’s to come in Lomba Sihir’s upcoming second album. They describe this new phase of their music as being more laid-back, like hanging out at a cozy coffee shop compared to their previous album. “If our first era, Selamat Datang di Ujung Dunia (2021), can be likened to a skyscraper with a luxurious architectural design, then our second era can be likened to a coffee stall (warung kopi) where people hang out after work hours.”
Lomba Sihir believes that music should be more than just performance; it’s about communication and connecting with listeners. They aim to bring a deeper perspective into their music and keep it meaningful.
