Bingkai Karya – Nearly two years after her debut full-length album Mengudara (2023), singer-songwriter Idgitaf returns with her brand-new single “Sedia Aku Sebelum Hujan” (I’ll Be Ready Before It Rains). Serving as a prelude to her upcoming second album set for release in 2026, the track showcases her latest musical direction, her signature joyful pop interwoven seamlessly with country influences, wrapped in straightforward lyrics that declare love without hesitation.
“I want to embrace the way I love, recklessly,” Gita says of “Sedia Aku Sebelum Hujan” (I’ll Be Ready Before It Rains). “That’s how I love, fully and unapologetically. I can openly say, ‘I could do anything for you, even move mountains for you.’ That’s just the depth of my love, and I’m not ashamed of it.”
Opening with harmonica/violin riffs and clear country elements, the song unfolds with Gita’s distinctive vocals narrating the journey of her love. The chorus reinforces her promise to always keep her partner safe and sound, while the intensifying drums, violins, layered backing vocals, and soaring vocal lines bring the emotion to its peak.
The single marks Gita’s first collaboration with producer and musician Enrico Octaviano. Having long envisioned working with a drummer to add a more masculine edge to her sound, she sees this collaboration as the beginning of a new chapter. She also hints that her upcoming album will differ significantly from her debut this time focusing more deeply on love and self-reflection. “Right now, I’m in a very joyful moment in life. I’m in a healthy and supportive relationship. That’s what moves me. It feels like the right beginning and the right time. I dared myself to write something beyond my comfort zone.”
Gita further shares that the new album led her to many conversations with herself, resulting in new lessons and insights. “In this album, I speak from my own perspective about how love influences me, how I’m on this exciting journey full of exploration yet filled with mystery. But there’s also balance, it’s not only about love. The songs are also about endurance, resilience, and the fight to keep going.”
With “Sedia Aku Sebelum Hujan” (I’ll Be Ready Before It Rains), Idgitaf steps into a new world of artistry, an ever-evolving process of exploration within herself and in her relationships. Like a growing plant, she continues to embrace the world around her while becoming stronger and more resilient.
