Bingkai Karya-After releasing four singles over the past year, More on Mumbles’ journey towards their debut album is finally at its final point. The duo officially released their first album titled “(Masih) Kalah,” in collaboration with Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia.
This duo, coming from from Yogyakarta, consists of Lintang and Awan. Lintang, the vocalist, said that the album started when she and Awan experienced a sudden breakup with their loved ones. The breakup turned out to leave a deep scar, making both of them confused in understanding their feelings.
In the process, Lintang and Awan realized that there were many emotions every time they talked about the breakup. For example, there were days when anger would arise, and others when sadness dominated. “We also felt annoyed, or just considered ourselves stupid. Finally, the songs that were written over the two years have their own emotions, so they are diverse,” Lintang said.
This range of emotions emerged when listening to tracks like “What A Strange Day.” This song talks about the strange attitudes coming from breakup trauma. “Closure” talks about being forced to accept healing with past wounds is not for everyone. Also, “Now You Say You Wanna Talk” about the annoyance when the person who left us suddenly asks to meet.
In the process, the songs on the album “(Masih) Kalah” involved several well-known producers, such as Yabes Yuniawan, Dimas Wibisana, Enrico Octaviano, Ricco, and Lafa Pratomo. To celebrate the release of their debut album, More on Mumbles is preparing an album concert. “Hopefully the preparation will go smoothly so we have the opportunity to perform all the songs on the album,” Awan concluded.
