Bingkai Karya-Once again, Nadin Amizah is preparing a special performance. This time, it will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, starting at 8:00 PM WIB at the GOR Soemantri Brodjonegoro Basketball Court, South Jakarta. The show is titled “Malam Mendengar: Penampilan Orkestra Kecil pada Lagu-Lagu Nadin Amizah.”
“I’ve actually dreamed of arranging my songs in orchestral form for a long time. Recently, I had the chance to perform with Erwin Gutawa, and a few years ago, I worked with a university orchestra. I feel that certain songs truly reach their fullest potential when performed in orchestral arrangements. For Malam Mendengar, the song selection isn’t based on popularity, but on which songs would be most fitting as orchestral arrangements,” Nadin shared, explaining the initial concept for the performance.
Devoting herself to maximizing the quality of the songs in her discography is an idealistic priority that Nadin Amizah continuously upholds. She navigates her career through significant turning points marked by these types of unique performances.
She explained, “I feel that the version of Nadin Amizah on stage at gigs or festivals isn’t the complete Nadin Amizah. It is part of me, yes. But I feel that if there’s an opportunity for people to get to know a deeper side of Nadin Amizah, it’s when they can attend the performances I’ve curated.”
The Balance
With this idea, she continues to consistently produce special shows like Malam Mendengar: Small Orchestra Performance of Nadin Amizah’s Songs.
“I want this to become a tradition. Concerts are fun. Large-scale events are incredibly fulfilling to produce. But because of their scale, the effort required is also much greater. If we can organize smaller, more intimate events where I can be the version of Nadin Amizah that I aspire to be, while still performing at festivals to show my other sides, that is the balance I’m aiming for,” she said.
