Olly Murs Returned With “Die Of A Broken Heart”

British singer-songwriter Olly Murs has released a new single titled “Die of a Broken Heart”. The single is part of his latest album, titled Marry Me. The album will be officially released on December 2 through EMI Records.

‘Die Of A Broken Heart’, written in conjunction with David Stewart, will be the album’s opening track and lead single. One listen to this pop-reggae outlier and you’ll be addicted, as you can tell from the first notes. As Murs describes, “The opening has a steel drum that gets right into your skull. With a Police twist, it captures the vibe of Gotye’s song “Someone I Used to Know” and just the right amount of coolness. I was pretty enthusiastic about it.

Comes with romance, following the dancing and the partying. “Let Me Just Say” completes the song “Marry Me.” Only one ballad appears on the album, and it serves as both a showcase for Murs’ flawlessly elegant voice and a window into his most profound feelings.

Murs chose to commit and delve deeper as a result. Murs quickly forged a bond with Stewart and his songwriting collaborator Jessica Agombar, a producer and multi-instrumentalist, and utterly dismantled the creative process that had previously worked so well for him.

Marry Me was written and recorded solely by Murs, David Stewart, and Jessica Agombar, who scored a huge hit with “Dynamite,” the 2020 single they wrote for BTS. “I’ve never done this before. It feels weird writing with the same person over and over again. But I like routine, and consistency. We keep writing good songs”.
