Bingkai Karya – After striving to ’Bertahan Sendiri’ (“Stand on Her Own”), Prinsa Mandagie seems to have found the answer that the most important thing in the journey of life and love is to value and choose ourselves first. This message shines through in her latest single, ’Kembali Ke Aku’ (“Back to Me”), a heartfelt statement and deep reflection that in the tides of love and relationships, the bravest choice we can make is to choose ourselves first.
“The meaning of ‘Kembali Ke Aku’ is when we finally realize that valuing and choosing ourselves first is the most important thing,” Prinsa shared. The song isn’t merely a fictional story cause Prinsa revealed that it was inspired by her own personal experience: “(It came from) the pain of the past, when I once lost myself.”
For this deeply personal track, Prinsa teamed up with producer Lafa Pratomo, whose previous works she has long admired. She believed that Lafa could bring fresh and meaningful ideas to her story. In terms of arrangement and production, Prinsa wanted to keep things simple, allowing the emotion and message to resonate directly with listeners, without unnecessary layers overshadowing the heart of the song.
“Daripada ku kehilangan diriku, lebih baik ku kehilangan kamu” (“Rather than losing myself, I’d rather lose you”) this particular line from ’Kembali Ke Aku’stands out most for Prinsa. It perfectly captures the essence of the song: when love causes us to lose ourselves, sometimes letting go becomes the truest act of self-respect.
Through this song, Prinsa hopes to deliver an important message to her listeners who might be going through similar experiences: “Know your worth! You deserve to be valued — especially by yourself.”
‘Kembali Ke Aku’ marks Prinsa’s next serious step in asserting her presence in the music scene. She revealed that she already has a series of new releases and projects lined up following this single.
