Bingkai Karya-Pure Saturday released a remastered version of their previous hit “Desire.” With a few lead guitar tweaks and sound quality adjustments, the song’s musical arrangement and lyrics doesn’t really change from the original version.
Generally speaking, the very “crunchy” mix of alternative rock and indie pop in the song “Desire” from the debut album “Self Titled” (1995–1996) succeeded in bringing a fresh air. They remastered “Desire Remastered 2006” in 2006 to meet the requirements of a local filmmaker’s movie soundtrack. The song’s musical composition and lyrics remain largely unchanged, with the exception of a few lead guitar changes and adjustments to the sound quality.
“Yesterday I found myself alone In the dark and no one else” for those of us who hear this piece of lyrics, many may interpret the downturn in life, it could be a problem of love, work or the reality of life but for this listener it sounds a love theme song that stimulates the meaning of teenage life. The beginning is presented by an intro that slaps the ear with an instrument that can reduce the selfishness of feelings, like hearing the piano from Air Supply – Making Love Out Of Nothing All which is always repeated in the verse.
Indeed, in this song Pure Saturday combines a visual appreciation of the emphasis of an individual who is down and then he finds a line of calm and knows where to go “I want you to hold me in your soul – It makes me easy, makes me alright” This may be a phrase in the heart that he scribbles on a sheet of paper, hoping for a figure who can be beside him that is always loyal to his steps. Damn, the freezing of the mouth and fingers makes it difficult to express but calmly you can believe my selfish feelings through thoughts like the lyrics “I can’t say anything – Or bring you anything”
Of course, the distinctive guitar lead tone in the start reminds us that this song is a classic from Pure Saturday at that time. It also succeeded in making teens nostalgic about their romance, and some even adapted this song to their lives.
