Rina Sawayama released a new single entitled “Hold The Girl” which also became her album title. The song premiered on BBC Radio 1 as Clara Amfo’s Hottest Record In The World. “’Hold the Girl’ was the first song I wrote for the record at the end of 2020–I had gone to therapy and had a revelation, so I decided to write this song…that was the start of it. I was crying before going into the studio to write about it,” said her.
“Hold The Girl” is Rina’s follow-up to her highly acclaimed debut SAWAYAMA. Rina will once again mix personal narrative with songs that are suitable for a stadium, resulting in another ambitious and unique album that will thrill both fans and reviewers.

With the support of longtime colleagues Lauren Aquilina and Clarence Clarity, as well as the likes of the famous Paul Epworth, Stuart Price, and Marcus Andersson for their special touch, Rina wrote and recorded the album over the course of the previous 18 months. “Hold The Girl” album will be out on September 16, 2022.
Not only announcing her new single, Rina also announced her upcoming North American Tour that will happen in November 2022. The ticket is already available to book. Rina will perform at renowned locations during the 13-date run, including the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, the Roadrunner in Boston, the Great Hall at Avant Gardner in New York City, and the Great Hall at Avant Gardner.
