Bingkai Karya – Rocket Rockers, the Bandung-based pop-punk icons formed in 1999, have long proven themselves as one of Indonesia’s most consistent bands in delivering the raw energy of pop-punk. From their early release “Soundtrack For Your Life (2002)” to “Ras Bebas (2004)”, “Better Season (2008)”, and their most recent “The Good Flight (2023)”, the band has never strayed from its musical identity. For more than two decades, Rocket Rockers have kept the pop-punk spirit alive amid shifting music trends, making their name synonymous with the genre in Indonesia.
Far from just existing, the band has actively carried Indonesia’s pop-punk banner onto international stages across Southeast Asia and Europe, sharing the spotlight with legendary acts like MXPX, The Ataris, and SUM41. Their dedication has solidified their position as one of the most influential forces in Indonesia’s pop-punk scene.
Now, Rocket Rockers return with a bold new move: collaborating with soloist Rizky Irmansyah to reimagine “Rumit” (Complicated), a popular heartbreak ballad by Langit Sore. The track comes alive with Rizky’s tender vocals blended with Rocket Rockers’ explosive energy, creating an emotional yet vibrant pop-punk reinvention.
“This song already carries a powerful meaning, but with Rocket Rockers’ new energy, it feels deeper and more colorful,” said Rizky Irmansyah. Aska added, “We didn’t just rearrange it we immersed ourselves in the song’s meaning and expressed it through our own musical character. It was a challenge we truly enjoyed.”
Released on all digital platforms and YouTube, “Rumit” (Complicated) is ready to become a new anthem for anyone who has lived through the twists and turns of a complicated love story. Its music video, starring Onadio Leonardo and Egi Haw, captures both the serious and satirical sides of messy relationships.
