Romy is currently releasing her solo debut album with the title “Mid Air”. Romy’s solo debut album will be released on 8 September through Young. The short overview of the album was all about celebration, protection, and safety while you are stepping on the dance floor.
“Mid Air” tells stories about love, grief, relationships, identity, and sexuality. Another interesting thing you can find in this album is that this album embodies a love letter to a queer club where Romy found her own kind of community and deep connection. This album is all about confession of her truest self. It’s about declaring her own perspective, what she is, and her entire belief system.
“Mid Air” is a final outcome of her collaboration with Fred again.., Stuart Price, and her fellow bandmate Jamie xx in her single “Enjoy Your Life”. Romy describes “Mid Air” as an ‘emotional music that was made to make you dance your heart out’. Romy and her partners managed to arrange the voice and the instruments used to match Romy’s main purpose of this album: to trigger your emotion and make you dance your heart out.

As the celebration of the album’s release, Romy decided to release more of her musical work in the form of single. Romy’s newest single titled “Loveher” was produced by Fred again..
Romy previously was known for her appearance with her band, The xx. The band started making music in 2005 in London, and they dive deep in the genre of indie rock. The fact that The xx has been in the music industry for 18 years since 2005, we can conclude that there’s no reason to doubt Romy’s expertise in making music.
