Bingkai Karya – Singaporean indie pop star Shye makes her return today with a brand-new single titled “All at once.” Featuring an atmospheric and haunting sound, “All at once” explores the silent devastation that follows heartbreak. The track continues the narrative of her previous single, “Waited for you,” but this time offers a deeper storyline wrapped in longing that gradually shifts into bittersweet acceptance.
While “Waited for you” explored the sorrow of waiting for someone who never arrived, “All at once” guides listeners through what comes next. “This song is about being haunted by the memories of someone who has moved on while you’re still stuck in the same place,” Shye shared.
The recurring line “Come back to me” drives the emotional core of “All at once,” giving the illusion of stability. “The grief in this song lingers in every corner of your life, when you begin to realize the loss in everything you see. You know it’s over and you have to move on, but actually doing that is so much harder,” said Shye.
“With this song, I wanted to give a voice to a quiet but complicated kind of heartbreak, one that often goes unspoken. That feeling of being trapped in the remnants of something that’s already gone, while the world keeps moving. I hope anyone going through that feels understood and not alone.” — Shye
Following the releases of “Cecilia” and “Waited for you,” this latest track marks a sonic evolution for Shye toward something softer, dreamier, and more emotionally honest. Musically, she departs from the heavier tones of her past releases and instead crafts a more atmospheric space—filled with dreamy guitars and raw, unfiltered lyrics. “All at once” feels like a sigh from the heart—gentle, haunting, and slightly fragile.
Speaking on the meaning behind the track, Shye said, “The inspiration came from an odd emotional space, where everything still reminds me of someone, even though they’re no longer part of my life. When you’re in love, your life slowly builds around that person. But when they’re gone, all that’s left are shadows of what used to be.” Through its lyrics and arrangement, the song captures the quiet sadness of heartbreak, while continuing to search for peace and slowly piece back together a heart that isn’t fully healed. On the surface it feels calm, but inside, it’s still deeply unsettled.
“All at once” is a warm embrace for anyone struggling, a companion for those silently in pain, offering comfort and reminding them they’re not alone.
“It’s okay not to be okay,” she says. “Sometimes, sitting with that truth is part of how we heal.” Above all, Shye hopes the song reaches those who need it most, at just the right moment, and gives them the courage to allow themselves space and time to truly heal.
