Bingkai Karya — After remarkable achievements with their previous two albums, ‘Pilot’ (2021) and ‘Pancarona’ (2024), Jakarta-based music group The Lantis now release their first EP titled ‘Cara Mencintai’. This is more than just a new project, it’s proof of how The Lantis’ music continues to evolve, and how the members never stop shaping emotions as the core of their creativity. ‘Cara Mencintai’ reflects The Lantis’ courage to dive into the darkest side of affection, unpacking grief, making peace with circumstances, and rearranging the fragments of loss until they become something alive. It is not merely a celebration of love, but an emotional autopsy of it: The Lantis’ way of understanding that to love also means to be ready to lose.
‘Cara Mencintai’ consists of five songs connected by a single narrative: the Five Stages of Grief. A reflection of life phases that all of us have gone through.
“At first we didn’t plan to build a concept like this. But once all the songs were finished, we saw the thread: everything was about ways of loving. Each one is different. And we realized, the way you love someone isn’t only about how you love them when everything feels magical, but also how you love them when things fall apart. How you respond to that,” explained guitarist-vocalist Ravi Rinaldy.
Three tracks had been released prior: “Bunga Maaf” (November 2024), “Ambang Rindu” (April 2025), and “Teruntuk Dirimu” (August 2025). The album opener ‘Cara Mencintai’ and the focus track “Bila” were released simultaneously with the EP.
The opening track ‘Cara Mencintai’ represents denial, a gentle refusal wrapped in sacrifice. “Teruntuk Dirimu” embodies anger, a burst of despair that later transforms into courage to walk away. “Ambang Rindu” portrays bargaining, when someone begins negotiating with fate through longing. “Bunga Maaf” reflects depression, when regret arrives too late and words have run out. And finally, “Bila” closes with acceptance, a quiet, honest realization that not every story is meant to last forever.
Ravi adds, “Sometimes a story comes into your life only briefly. But it’s important to remember it, because it becomes part of you too. Maybe not forever, but it was once in your life.”
A New Musical Exploration for The Lantis
The creative process and production of the entire EP took place over six months, from October 2024 to April 2025. This became the most collaborative phase in the history of The Lantis. For the first time, Giri Virandi (bass & vocals), Ravi Rinaldy (guitar & vocals), and Rifki Dzaky Fauzan a.k.a. Ojan (guitar) opened the door to outside producers. They worked with Rendy Pandugo and Krisna Trias. Four tracks were produced with Rendy, while “Ambang Rindu” was created with Krisna in a spontaneous session originally meant to fix an old song, but instead gave birth to a new one in under an hour.
“We were supposed to fix an old track. But after creating a new chorus, it felt better to make a whole new song from scratch. And the flow was incredibly natural. The song was done in an hour,” said Ojan about “Ambang Rindu.”
For The Lantis, ‘Cara Mencintai’ is also a space to build emotional maturity in their music. “On this EP, we wrote every song together,” said Ravi. “Before this, sometimes it was just me, sometimes Giri. Now it’s fully collaborative. It feels more honest, more like ‘us.’”
Through ‘Cara Mencintai’, The Lantis don’t just want listeners to sing along. They want to offer a space for anyone learning to accept loss, a space where grief and love can coexist without cancelling each other out.
The EP ‘Cara Mencintai’ was officially released on November 14, 2025 under Warner Music Indonesia, and is available on all digital streaming platforms. Alongside the EP, The Lantis also released the music video for the focus track “Bila.”
On November 29, The Lantis also planned to hold a showcase in Jakarta. Follow The Lantis’ social media for more information.
