Bingkai Karya – Multi-platinum certified alternative rock band The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus (RJA) officially returns with their latest single and video “Slipping Through (No Kings)”, released via Better Noise Music, marking their first new material in five years since the 2020 EP Emergency. With urgent riffs and biting lyrics, the track delivers a powerful warning about the growing social turmoil in the United States, while also paving the way for their upcoming studio album, set to be announced in the coming months.
“It’s about what’s happening in our country, everything we’ve stood for is slipping through!” asserts frontman and RJA founder Ronnie Winter. “My neighbors are disappearing, families are torn apart. These aren’t strangers, they’re our friends, our loved ones. Just like Jesus said, ‘Love thy neighbor.’ That’s the heart of this song.”
Co-produced with hitmaker Matt Squire, “Slipping Through (No Kings)” is also brought to life through a noir-styled animated video directed by Steve Tramposch and Jamie Lewis. Presented in black-and-white dystopian imagery, the video follows two characters — X Boy and X Girl — as they witness a friend being taken away in a dark van. The X on their eyes symbolizes disillusionment, while the X on their mouths represents silenced voices. At the climax, they plant the Alliance flag, a rebellious symbol of the RJA fanbase, followed by an explosion in full color, marking the rise of a new generation bound by solidarity.
“Slipping Through (No Kings)” marks a bold new era for RJA, now composed of Ronnie Winter (vocals/guitar), Randy Winter (rhythm guitar), Josh Burke (lead guitar), Joey Westwood (bass), John Espy (drums), and Nadeem Salam (touring keyboardist).
In their two-decade career, RJA has achieved 5x Platinum with “Face Down”, 2x Platinum for their 2006 debut album “Don’t You Fake It”, and amassed a global total of 1.5 billion streams.The new single also reinforces RJA’s long-standing commitment to addressing social issues, from domestic violence in “Face Down”, to mental health, and now the growing humanitarian crisis unfolding in their own backyard. “Slipping Through (No Kings)” is now available on all digital platforms, with the official music video streaming on RJA’s YouTube channel.
