Unfiltered Emotions Come Alive in Shakira Jasmine’s “kira”

Bingkai KaryaA Raw Portrait of Wanting Love

Singer and songwriter Shakira Jasmine officially releases her latest album “kira”, a deeply personal body of work that captures the emotional journey of wanting love while not yet being ready to embrace it.

Her Most Vulnerable Story Yet

“kira” becomes Shakira’s most intimate space to express stories of unhealed wounds, lingering insecurity, and the fear of opening her heart again after experiencing loss and emotional turbulence. Through vulnerable and reflective lyrics, she invites listeners to explore the moments when love feels close yet remains difficult to reach.

A Warm, Modern Sonic Canvas

“This album tells the phase when we want to be loved, but our hearts are not ready. When we are still learning to make peace with our wounds, processing our fears, and searching for meaning in everything that has happened,” Shakira shares.

Musically, “kira” blends alternative pop, R&B, and modern elements, creating a soundscape that feels mellow yet warm. Each track in the album forms a piece of a larger narrative, one that illustrates the journey of healing, understanding oneself, and learning to love again.

The album consists of eight tracks:

  1. akankah aku sampai kesana?
  2. Just a Crush Thing
  3. LOVE DOESN’T WANT ME
  4. Selalu Kalah
  5. mR.mELoDramAtiC
  6. Room For Someone
  7. Wanting It Back
  8. best

More than just an album, “kira” serves as a reminder that feeling fragile is normal, taking a pause is acceptable, and it is okay if love hasn’t arrived at the time we hoped for. It becomes a comforting embrace for those going through a phase of searching and healing.

One of the album’s highlight tracks, ‘mR.mELoDramAtiC’, represents the vulnerable, overthinking, and emotionally complex state of being torn between love and pain while still hoping for something more. It strengthens the album’s core theme honesty.

Across all the tracks, Shakira presents emotional phases that closely mirror real life experiences. ‘mR.mELoDramAtiC’ paints the dynamics of a relationship with someone caught in their own drama, playful yet emotionally exhausting. Meanwhile, ‘akankah aku sampai kesana?’ reflects fears about the future, dreams, and the pressure of meeting one’s own expectations.

On the other hand, ‘LOVE DOESN’T WANT ME’ captures the emptiness of feeling repeatedly overlooked by love, while Wanting It Back offers a space for longing over something once perfect, even when we know it may not return. Together, the songs form a cohesive narrative of self discovery, pain, acceptance, and the courage to be honest with oneself.

Marking a Milestone in Her 2025 Asia Tour

The album release is also part of Shakira Jasmine’s Asia Tour 2025, which recently took place in Singapore and Japan. For the Indonesia stop, Shakira partners with Makassar based promoter Festival Delapan as the local organizer.
