Bingkai Karya – Thai dream pop duo LANDOKMAI carries on their momentum with another new release ‘Finger Paint’, another single from their upcoming English EP WHAT EVE?.
This time, LANDOKMAI collaborates with Korean indie artist Seol Hoseung, the lead singer of popular rock band SURL, who is known for their contribution to the soundtrack of hit k-drama Twenty-Five, Twenty-One.
‘Finger Paint’ is a track filled with warmth, blending dreams and reality into a figurative song written for both “you” and “me”. No matter what life throws at us, we will always find our way back to each other in the end, and be the same people we once were.
The track’s poetic English lyrics bring a new breezy and comforting feel to fans familiar with LANDOKMAI’s work. With Upim’s signature vocals paired with Hoseung’s deep and gentle tone, the song makes for a perfect match, coming to life in a beautiful manner.
This is also LANDOKMAI’s first official international collaboration, an experience that they describe as “incredibly meaningful”. SURL is widely recognised for their talent and accolades across the region, and the band is also gaining popularity among Thai indie music fans. In the music video, LANDOKMAI took the lead in creating the music video themselves, with Hoseung providing solid support through contributing footage all the way from Seoul. The video reflects the song’s themes of mutual completeness. This motif carries on even to the cover art of the single, featuring a unique piece of hand-painted art created by both Upim and Hoseung, and hidden gem that adds another layer of meaning to this special release.
LANDOKMAI is a rising female indie-pop duo under the Thai label What The Duck, and are known for their dreamy soundscapes and vintage lo-fi flair. In 2023, LANDOKMAI teamed up with Korean indie-pop trio wave to earth for a special live session featuring wave to earth’s ‘Daisy’ and LANDOKMAI’s ‘With All My Heart’, creating a soft, seamless fusion of Thai and Korean indie aesthetics.
In 2024, LANDOKMAI was invited to perform at the Neon Oasis Festival in Taiwan, marking a new chapter with the release of their highly anticipated full-length album All My Purple Feelings
