When Rock Meets Pop-Punk! for Revenge & Stand Here Alone Unite in a Powerful Anthem of Longing and Loss

Bingkai Karya – In a bold move that’s bound to spark excitement in the Indonesian alternative scene, two powerhouse bands—for Revenge and Stand Here Alone—have joined forces in an emotionally charged new single titled “Untuk Kau yang Di Sana (UKYDS)”.

While collaborations between solo artists are common, this project breaks new ground by blending the distinct musical identities of two full-fledged bands. The result? A fusion of alternative rock and pop-punk nostalgia that resonates with listeners both sonically and emotionally.

A Song of Longing, Loss, and Mental Health

“UKYDS” tells the story of someone yearning for a person who’s no longer in their life. But beneath that, the track speaks volumes about the silent battles of mental health—feelings of isolation, grief, and the pain of being unseen. According to Boniex Nurwega, vocalist of for Revenge, this dual-layered narrative was central to the song’s concept.

A Collaboration Years in the Making

Boniex had long envisioned working with Stand Here Alone. “We’ve crossed paths on stage many times and collaborated at several off-air events. That sparked my interest in doing something more concrete,” he shared. “for Revenge has worked with solo acts before, but this was our first collaboration with another band. It came with its own set of challenges, especially since we weren’t just performing together—we were writing the song from scratch.”

For Stand Here Alone’s Taufik Andryyansyah (a.k.a. Mbenk), the creative spark was immediate. “Boniex sent over a raw instrumental demo and invited us to build something new together. We clicked instantly. During the workshop, we wrote lyrics, built melodies, and combined our two musical worlds. The process really came alive when Samuel helped finalize the arrangement.”

One of the highlights? Working under the vocal direction of Kamga, which was a first-time experience for Stand Here Alone. “It gave the track a fresh dynamic,” said Mbenk. “We were stepping out of our comfort zone—and it paid off.”

Two Worlds, One Song

Despite their differences in style, the two bands found common ground. “Blending the emotional, gloomy elements of for Revenge with the high-energy, anthemic vibe of Stand Here Alone was a creative challenge,” said Boniex. “But it worked. It’s serious music made in a relaxed and ego-free environment. That made all the difference.”

Mbenk added, “Even though the song leans into for Revenge’s emotional tone, you can still feel SHA’s signature energy in the tempo, vocal delivery, and rhythm. It’s one song with two hearts.”

In fact, the pop-punk edge brought by SHA gives the track a nostalgic flair. “People might even be surprised—it could be the first time they hear for Revenge go pop-punk,” Boniex laughed.

More Than Just Music

Both bands hope the track becomes more than a song—it’s a message. “This project proves that two bands with strong identities can collaborate without losing themselves,” said Boniex and Mbenk. “It’s about mutual respect, not dominance. It’s about lifting each other up.”

They also hope “UKYDS” serves as an emotional outlet for anyone coping with loss or unspoken goodbyes. “And maybe,” Mbenk added, “this song will inspire even more daring collaborations in the future.”

“Untuk Kau yang Di Sana (UKYDS)” is now available on all digital streaming platforms starting July 15, 2025.
