Bingkai Karya-After quite a long break since her third single “Sudah Jalannya” released in February 2023, female soloist Winaya Satasya, is back with her fourth song, “Wangimu Seperti Aku.”
With an unique title, Barsena writes this song about being too close in a relationship and feeling uneasy about it. In other words, the song “Wangimu Seperti Aku” is about a person who feels that since they are overly attached to their spouse, they have lost their individuality. They sense the need for room to grow and fully realize their individuality with all of their own characteristics.
Winaya also admits that this song, which took three months to produce, offers something different. While most songs about relationship woes are mellow or melancholic, “Wangimu Seperti Aku” presents a cheerful vibe.
The Challenge
There’s a reason why the gap between Winaya’s third and fourth singles is taking so long. Winaya, who cares about animal welfare, admits to having difficulty finding songs outside of her own compositions. According to her, she was helped by the Sony Music A&R team in finding a song for her fourth single. She immediately liked it because it suited her vocal style. The lyrics made her feel like she could infuse soul into this song.
Singing this song actually posed its own challenge for Winaya, who initially struggled with the song’s rhythm. “But when I met Barsena, I was directed to sing with a Swing style. It turns out that producing a Swing effect with the voice is quite difficult because you have to ensure it’s not too smooth and still energetic,” she said.
For Winaya, “Wangimu Seperti Aku” carries a meaningful message. This song is a love song, but it doesn’t use the word “love.” Essentially, it says, “I love you, but, can we have some time for ourselves?”. Whether it’s married couples, parents with children, or friends, everyone needs their own space to avoid losing their identity. With the release of her fourth single, Winaya hopes that listeners will resonate with the message.
