Bingkai Karya – After two years, Ziva Magnolya has finally released her second album titled ‘Merangkai’. In this album, Ziva brings a Pop R&B theme, which has been her long-time wish to have an album with that kind of musical nuance. This album is released under Universal Music Indonesia.
“This album really represents me. I’ve always wanted to have a Pop R\&B album because I truly love this kind of music. So, I can say this album is really me,” said Ziva Magnolya about her album. Regarding the theme, Ziva explained that she still brings the theme of love throughout her songs, offering a variety of perspectives that create a deep and connected story within each track.There are nine songs in ‘Merangkai’. Three of them were previously released as singles: “Abadi,” “Wanita Biasa,” and “Cukup.” These singles received a warm welcome from Indonesian music fans. One interesting aspect of the album is Ziva’s collaboration with several top local music producers. For example, “Intro” with Dony Manurung, “Tertarik Atau Baik” with BIANCADIMAS, “Sesuka Hati” with Trakast, Yafi Aria, Stefanus LJ. Then there is “200K” in collaboration with Ranbe, “Against All The Odds” with Belanegara Abe, “Wanita Biasa” and “Cukup” with S/EEK, and finally, “Kata Kata” in collaboration with Laleilmanino.
By the way, the collaboration with Kaleb J is also one of the highlights—it’s a long-awaited collaboration that fans have been hoping for since 2021. A must-listen! “Collaborating with the best producers in the country is such an honor for me. I also learned a lot, both technically about music and about the music industry itself. It was fun and I truly respect them,” said Ziva Magnolya.
Not only that, Ziva also presents cool artwork for the ‘Merangkai’ album. She collaborated with one of the country’s top visual artists, Diela Maharanie, known for her vibrant and colorful artwork.
Oh, and as part of the album campaign, there will be a music video for the single ‘Kata Kata’ and a lyric video for another new single. The concept features a spooky horror vibe in the set design. The appearance of a “ghost” adds a unique twist, yet it’s still presented in a fun tone. The music and lyric videos were produced by Athea Visual and directed by Ivan Saputra Alam.
“The story is simple but very interesting. It’s about love, but the couple can’t be together yet. A love story from the perspective of the person who ghosted someone,” said Ziva, also known as the Queen of Riff and Runs. “My hope, of course, is that this album will be well received by music fans in Indonesia. That it will be listened to by many people and bring joy to your days,” said Ziva Magnolya.
