Bingkai Karya – Three young musicians with distinct styles—Jevin Julian, Jinan Laetitia, and Kara Chenoa—have joined forces to breathe new life into the iconic Indonesian hit “Hanya Memuji” with a fresh and colorful new version. The song was officially released today, Friday, May 2, 2025, and is now available on all digital streaming platforms.
“Hanya Memuji” was originally popularized by Shanty and Marcell in the year 2000. Two decades later, the song—written by renowned songwriter Melly Goeslaw—has been reinterpreted by a new generation of artists who bring a modern approach while still honoring the essence of the original.According to Jinan Laetitia, their version of “Hanya Memuji” feels more fun and flirty. “This song talks about having a crush on someone, but not taking those feelings too seriously. It’s light-hearted and playful,” she said in a written press release.
Produced by Jevin Julian, the remake came together quickly, fueled by a collaborative and energetic process shared with Kara Chenoa. The three previously worked together in 2023 on a reinterpretation of MALIQ & D’Essentials’ “The One.”
“This project was pretty fast-paced, from production to recording. It was super fun to work together again—reimagining a legendary song like this to feel fresher but still preserving the core of the original,” the trio shared.
Recreating a legendary hit comes with its own challenges. “The original version is super iconic, so we wanted to make sure we carried that same energy in our version,” said Jinan. With an approach that pays homage to the work of Shanty and Marcell, the trio hopes to bridge the nostalgia of older fans with a sound that resonates with today’s listeners.They also hope this version of “Hanya Memuji” will be embraced across generations—from new listeners in 2025 to fans of the original release. The track by Jevin Julian, Jinan Laetitia, and Kara Chenoa is now available on all digital streaming platforms, and the official music video is live on Warner Music Indonesia’s YouTube channel.
