Comeback! Gabriella Ekaputri with “Burning Room”, Tells Story of  The Bittersweet Romance Relationship

Bingkai Karya– Not all romances go well. Some of them can survive, and some of them break up. Gabriella Ekaputri desire her new track “Burning Room” to tell that narrative.Following her March debut with “Me & U” in Indonesia, the brilliant young vocalist released “Burning Room” as her second single. Like her debut, “Burning Room” is released by Universal Music Indonesia.

Gabriella Ekaputri collaborated with Swedish musicians Linnea Gawell and Jonas Peker on “Burning Room,” blending pop-ballad and folk music.Unlike her first single “Me & U” which is dancey and emphasizes her dancing, “Burning Room” is a mellow ballad that emphasizes her vocals, which are her main weapon in this release.

“When I initially heard the demo, I thought, “This song is very technical in emotional singing, which is a challenge for me.” As I worked on it, I became invested and kept developing my emotive singing technique. Results-wise, I’m pleased and proud. I hope this song makes you feel the same way as me,” says Gabriella Ekaputri.

The theme of “Burning Room” is heartbreak. This song is about a relationship that can’t survive separation. “Burning Room” shows how a couple that loved each other enough to tolerate each other’s quirks and flaws might split.“The simple lyrics of this song tell us it’s about breaking up with someone we loved. My favorite portions of this song are where it expresses separation” Gabriella Ekaputri says we might be so in love with someone but then progressively lose that feeling for so many reasons, making the relationship feel like dancing in a burning room.

The sound department’s Jonas Peker arranges the tune sweetly. Very minimalist with simply piano and violin sounds, yet fits the song’s sorrowful theme. Gabriella Ekaputri’s beautiful voice makes the song much more pleasurable, especially if you can identify to the subject.
