Bingkai Karya – Singer and songwriter Putri Ariani released her new single, “Senyumannya Tutupi Semua Lelah,” on September 20. This song marks the beginning of her album titled “Evolve,” and it is now available on various music streaming platforms.
For Putri, this single serves as a way to share love through smiles. She emphasizes the humanistic values behind it by collaborating with the Cinta Quran Foundation. “A portion of the revenue from this song’s streaming will be donated to humanitarian causes, Insya Allah,” Putri said.
Putri’s background as a Muslim greatly influences her songwriting. She reveals that “Senyumannya” is inspired by a verse from the Quran, Surah Az-Zumar, verse 10, which states, “Say (Muhammad), ‘O My believing servants! Fear your Lord.’ For those who do good in this world, there is goodness.”
This isn’t Putri’s first Quran-inspired song; earlier this year, she released “Teruskan Langkah Baikmu,” based on Surah Al-Insyirah, verses 5 and 6.
Putri wrote “Senyumannya” herself, overseeing the entire recording process. She is also working on all the songs for her upcoming album, “Evolve.” “I learned to be a producer with my internal team,” she explained.
The recording of “Senyumannya” had its challenges, as Putri aimed for a simple yet profound delivery. Despite the difficulties, she found the overall recording experience to be smooth.
In writing the lyrics, she chose a third-person perspective, which sets this song apart from her others, as she usually uses first or second-person viewpoints. “I dedicate ‘Senyumannya’ to those who are strong and always smile through their struggles,” Putri shared. “It touches me deeply because life isn’t always easy, but those remarkable people can smile no matter what, believing there is goodness in every step.”
Music Video Collaboration with Cinta Quran Foundation
The strong humanistic message of the song is reflected in the music video, created in collaboration with the Cinta Quran Foundation.
The music video, directed by Angger Pamungkas, aligns closely with the campaign. It tells the story of a volunteer inspired by her father, who is active in humanitarian activities. Although she worries about her sick father, the smiles of those she helps strengthen her resolve.
Putri explained that the video’s cast reflects real-life experiences, with the main character engaged in humanitarian work. The beneficiaries featured in the video are also actual participants, and the donations shown are real. “The production process was very minimal in terms of gimmicks,” she added.
