Bingkai Karya– Indonesian music veteran Fatin Shidqia is known as Fatin. Since her solo career took off after winning a talent competition, the singer born on July 30, 1996, has won over many hearts. After nearly a year after her last single, “Jangan Tersesat, Sayang,” Fatin returns with her new song, “Kita Sama-Sama Tau,” co-written with Clara Riva. This is my first songwriting cooperation with Clara, and I appreciate the seamless process. First, I created the chorus tune, and then Clara assisted me. “We wrote the lyrics together,” Fatin says. Fatin discovered the tune for this song on her Eid return this year, never expecting it to become a full track for Indonesian music fans.
“Kita Sama-Sama Tau” looks into love topics, highlighting those who sense a growing affection yet wait for the proper time to be together. This story will be relatable for individuals who have experienced similar circumstances. “In order to sum up this song, it is about a relationship without a title. Both sides recognize their attraction but are unable to unite. This song aims to capture the emotions of those in or experiencing this predicament. I wish you patience while waiting for the greatest results,” she says.
Fatin reveals that her new single is different from her past works, especially the lyrics. “I wrote straightforward lyrics for “Kita Sama-Sama Tau” in order to guarantee quick understanding of the message. It was challenging to write clear lyrics. I found it difficult at first. With Clara’s help, I was able to create the lyrics I was picturing.”
The release gap between “Jangan Tersesat, Sayang” and “Kita Sama-Sama Tau” is significant, as acknowledged by Fatin. “My last song was released in November 2023, and my new single was published in October 2024. I needed more time to brainstorm and write this song. Despite a ten-month delay for recording, mixing, and mastering, I hope the song does not suffer”. Fatin hopes listeners connect with the song and find encouragement throughout waiting periods.
Fatin will release their latest single, “Kita Sama-Sama Tau,” on digital music channels on October 18, 2024.
