Bingkai Karya – After the success of their debut album Memorandum in 2022, Jakarta-based pop-rock trio Perunggu officially released their long-awaited sophomore album Dalam Dinamika on August 22, 2025. The nine-track record marks not just the continuation of their musical journey but also a reflection of their growth both as individuals and as a collective.
Ahead of the album, Perunggu had already unveiled three singles: “Berhasil”, “Tapi”, and “Pikiran Yang Matang”, all of which are now part of the full release. Staying true to their independent spirit, the album is released under their own label, Podium Records, and is now available across all major digital streaming platforms.
Still powered by its core lineup, Maul Ibrahim (vocals, guitar), Adam Adenan (bass, vocals), and Ildo Hasman (drums, vocals). Dalam Dinamika presents a fresh sonic palette. Unlike the introspective and contemplative mood of Memorandum, this new album feels more open, raw, and unafraid to experiment.
“We’re really excited,” Maul shares in an interview (Aug 6, 2025). “Every time we’re about to release new music, it’s always thrilling because these are songs we’ve heard hundreds of times ourselves from demo to mastering and now it’s time for others to hear them. And we truly love how it turned out.”
The record captures the trio’s willingness to step out of their comfort zone. Perunggu let go of the pressure to “follow up” the success of their debut and instead embraced a nothing to lose mindset. The result is a collection of songs that are more expressive, straightforward, and sonically diverse, yet still grounded in Perunggu’s signature honesty.
A Broader Sound, Rooted in Honesty Produced by Petra Sihombing and Enrico Octaviano, the album benefits not only from refined arrangements and sonic textures but also from a collaborative creative process that pushed Perunggu toward new directions without losing their essence. Mixing was handled by Stevano, who had also worked on Memorandum, while mastering was entrusted to Harmoko Aguswan.
Lyrically, Dalam Dinamika is a mirror of the band’s own lives, touching on self-discovery, relationships, and the mental fatigue of navigating the digital age. Written from lived experiences, the lyrics remain deeply personal yet universally relatable.
“We’re in our 30s now, and we’ve gone through a lot of life’s twists and turns,” Maul reflects. “So the lyrics naturally reflect what we’ve experienced and understood along the way.”
One of the most notable moments comes with “Berita Buruk”, where drummer Ildo Hasman takes the lead vocals for the first time. Written in 2024, the track carries deeply personal meaning for him, and the band’s collaborative process gave it an authentic, organic finish.
“When the demo was done and I sang it, it just felt right,” Ildo recalls. “So we all agreed that this one should be mine to sing.”
A Record Made for the Stage Even with its varied arrangements, the album maintains Perunggu’s live band spirit. The songs are imagined as powerful, energetic moments on stage, underscoring the band’s vision of music as a shared, communal experience.
“Every song on Dalam Dinamika feels like it’s meant to be played live,” says Maul. “I hope we get to perform them as often as possible,” Ildo adds.
Rather than serving as a direct comparison to Memorandum, Dalam Dinamika stands on its own terms. “I hope this album finds its own place and journey,” Ildo emphasizes.
The process of making the album was gradual, often squeezed in between work commitments and live shows, mirroring the unpredictable, ever-moving rhythm of life itself. At its core, Dalam Dinamika is about courage: moving forward despite uncertainty, embracing honesty, and choosing to keep going.
“Dalam Dinamika reflects everything we’ve been through since Perunggu started,” Adam explains (Aug 7, 2025). “At this point, we’ve learned so much, and those experiences have given us the confidence to keep pushing forward.”
