Bingkai Karya – MAN 2 Kota Malang held a departure ceremony for 35 Grade X and XI students participating in the Japan Youth Summit (JYS) 2026 in Japan. The ceremony took place at 11:40 a.m. Western Indonesia Time in the auditorium on the fourth floor of the Integrated Science Laboratory Building. Organized under the madrasah’s Language Development Center (LDC), the program is scheduled to depart on Sunday, October 18, 2026.

During the ceremony, Head of MAN 2 Kota Malang Dr. H. Samsudin, M.Pd., expressed his gratitude for the opportunity given to the students to take part in an international program. He encouraged them to make the most of the experience by developing themselves, broadening their knowledge, and pursuing achievements that would make both their school and families proud.

“We should be grateful for the opportunity given to these students to participate in this program. This opportunity must be accompanied by achievement and responsibility. Do not forget to thank your parents for their care and support. This activity is part of integrating knowledge and culture, as well as an opportunity to compete and demonstrate your best abilities,” he said.

H. Ahmad Thohir Yoga, M.Pd., M.Ed., Head of the Language Development Center at MAN 2 Kota Malang, emphasized the value of learning in an international environment. Through JYS 2026, students are expected to improve their communication skills, expand their networks, and gain firsthand exposure to cultural diversity.

He also reminded participants of their responsibility to uphold the reputation of their madrasah throughout the program. Mental readiness, discipline, respectful conduct, and a willingness to learn were highlighted as essential qualities for students undertaking an overseas experience.

“We hope the participants will take part in the program wholeheartedly, learn as much as possible, and bring home valuable experiences for themselves and the madrasah,” Ahmad Thohir Yoga said.

The departure marks an important step for the 35 students as they prepare to extend their learning beyond the classroom and into an international setting. Through Japan Youth Summit 2026, they are expected to connect academic knowledge with cross-cultural understanding while developing greater confidence, independence, and competitiveness.

As they prepare for their journey, MAN 2 Kota Malang hopes its students will represent the institution responsibly, make meaningful use of the opportunities offered, and bring back insights that can benefit both their personal development and the wider school community.
