Bingkai Karya – beabadoobee today announced her highly anticipated new album, ‘Pylon’, which is now available for pre-order and pre-save, and will be released on September 18, 2026 via Dirty Hit and Interscope Records.
Following her UK number one album, ‘This Is How Tomorrow Moves’, beabadoobee’s bold and striking fourth album is named after the electricity pylons that dot every major highway in the world, the sturdy, sleek structures that reminded Beatrice Laus of her ties to friends and family back home, as she navigated extreme isolation and isolation while touring in recent years.
The title could also be interpreted as a metaphor for Laus’s sharp, powerful new music, the thunderous, crashing waves of distortion that run throughout the album’s 14 tracks mirror the intense popping sounds heard when walking under power lines. The power pylons are also a fitting symbol for an album that explores the recurring anxieties of mid-twenties: What if I’m always going to be this way? What if life is just pylon after pylon on the road?
The album’s first single is available to listen and purchase today: “Sun Has Set” introduces ‘Pylon’ as, essentially, a collection of songs that began as diary entries, words Laus said she would never be able to say aloud. “A lot of the songs on this album are about things I desperately want to say to someone,” she says. “This song has a narrow, narrow perspective, like, ‘I hate you. You should stay here and listen to how much I hate you. Because I can never say it.’” The single is accompanied by a striking first-person video, directed by Bea’s partner and longtime visual collaborator, Jake Erland.
Always a devoted fan of pure rock, both as something to be cherished and as something to be explored, Laus pours these feelings into songs inspired by classic grunge, Midwest emo, and ’90s radio rock, focusing on a rougher, more direct sound than on previous albums. He says that the music he loves has “always been an influence” on his music, and so for B4, he went straight back to the source. A plethora of Beabadoobee’s combined influences contribute to ‘Pylon’, a fact that reflects the goodwill and respect Laus has garnered throughout his relatively short career.
Hayley Williams sings on “Nothing to Prove”, an anthemic indie-rock song about reclaiming your power from friends who are only there during the good times and only want a piece of your success. The dark, atmospheric “Powerlines” features a verse from Turnstile singer Brendan Yates, a master at blending vocal power with emotional nuance. Additionally, you’ll find contributions from Pinegrove’s Evan Stephens Hall, Deftones’ Chino Moreno, and Title Fight’s Shane Moran, as well as, on “Write Me A Letter”, production from Laus’ longtime friend and collaborator Matty Healy and The 1975’s George Daniel.
Beabadoobee will perform songs from the album for the first time on the Powerlines Tour, her first arena show and largest-ever tour, which will hit cities across North America, the UK, and Europe this fall and winter. The Powerlines Tour kicks off on October 1 and includes shows at Madison Square Garden, The Kia Forum, The O2, and more (full itinerary below).
