Bingkai Karya – Four-time AMI Awards winner Nadin Amizah officially unveils her highly anticipated third studio album, ‘Laika, Yang Ditinggalkan’, through her independent label Sorai. The 11-track album is now available across all major global digital streaming platforms, marking a bold new chapter in Nadin’s musical and emotional exploration.
Named after Laika, the Soviet space dog sent on a tragic one-way mission in 1957, the album uses her story as a central metaphor for grief, fatherlessness, and unattended yearning that gradually turns into rage. Through its deeply personal songwriting, Nadin reflects on abandonment, the longing for affection, and the emotional consequences of being left without a safe place to return to.
At the heart of ‘Laika, Yang Ditinggalkan’ is a poignant sociological reflection on life without a paternal figure. The album creates an emotional space for listeners who navigate similar experiences of loss, absence, and longing. This vulnerability comes through strongly in “Reservasi Untuk Dua”, where Nadin embraces unusually raw and profane language to express pain beneath anger and defiance.
The album also draws from stories beyond Nadin’s personal experience. “Ditemukan Sebuah Bangkai” was inspired by a real news report she encountered during the 2020 Jakarta floods, involving an unidentified body found floating along the East Flood Canal. Rather than positioning herself as a savior, Nadin describes the song as an act of witnessing the brokenness around her and feeling the pain shared by others.
Musically, the album represents a significant evolution in Nadin’s artistry. It features two full English-language tracks, including lead single “Moonlight” and “Take Him To The Moon For Me,” alongside the creative code-switching found in “Laika, Kau Mudah Dicinta.” The record also marks Nadin’s most ambitious production to date, bringing together 10 producers across 11 tracks, including Lafa Pratomo, Baskara Putra, Enrico Octaviano, Otta Tarega, and Feby Putri.
“Laika’s story inspired me deeply,” Nadin shares. “I imagined Laika being brought into this world longing for affection, nurtured, and given love she thought was forever, only to end up as a mere tool to satisfy human arrogance.”
Following ‘Selamat Ulang Tahun’ (2020) and ‘Untuk Dunia, Cinta, & Kotornya’ (2023), ‘Laika, Yang Ditinggalkan’ continues Nadin’s journey as one of Indonesia’s leading singer-songwriters. Listen to the album now across all major global digital streaming platforms.
