Bingkai Karya – Taiwanese-Australian artist Jaguar Jonze has released her new single, “HALF DEVIL (feat. KIRE),” in collaboration with Taiwanese-American singer-songwriter KIRE, out now via Nettwerk. Sung in both Mandarin and English, the track blends sultry alt-pop, gritty vocal textures, and club-leaning production, pairing melodic pop choruses with jagged, high-energy moments that reflect the tension at the heart of its story.

Following “Naked,” Jaguar Jonze’s first single after a two-year hiatus, “HALF DEVIL (feat. KIRE)” explores Asian heritage, cultural contradiction, and the experience of navigating multiple identities at once. The collaboration grew from conversations between the two artists about childhood, upbringing, and the complex feeling of being connected to the cultures that shaped them while not fully belonging to any one place.

For Jaguar Jonze and KIRE, this shared experience became the foundation of the song. The single reflects the sense of existing between different worlds—feeling connected to places such as Taiwan, Japan, Australia, and the United States while also experiencing the distance that can come with carrying multiple cultural identities.

“We had talked about our childhood and upbringing, where we didn’t quite belong in Taiwan, in Japan, yet we didn’t quite belong in the US or Australia either. There’s that lack of belonging wherever you go because you’re a mix of cultures.”
— Jaguar Jonze

The release is accompanied by an official music video filmed beneath a full moon on the black volcanic sands of a fishing village in North Bali. Using light and shadow as central visual elements, the video reflects the parts of ourselves that are often treated as opposites or kept apart.

“To me, ‘HALF DEVIL’ is about recognising that we’re all both angel and devil, and that being human is learning to hold those contradictions without judging them as right or wrong.”
— Jaguar Jonze

Through its bilingual exchange, shadowy atmosphere, and defiant energy, “HALF DEVIL (feat. KIRE)” transforms cultural complexity into a statement of confidence and self-definition. What begins with questions of belonging ultimately becomes a reclamation of identity—one that embraces contradiction rather than attempting to resolve it.

As Jaguar Jonze enters her next creative chapter, “HALF DEVIL (feat. KIRE)” opens the door to a bolder and more expansive artistic world. With the single now available, the release marks another step forward for an artist continuing to explore identity, vulnerability, and creative freedom on her own terms.
