Bingkai Karya – As the sun sets on ‘Midnight Sun,’ Zara Larsson welcomes a new chapter with the release of the highly anticipated official music video for “Blue Moon.” The new visual expands the universe of her acclaimed album ‘Midnight Sun,’ offering fans a fresh perspective on the project that has helped define a transformative period in the Swedish pop star’s career. The release also arrives with a “Blue Moon” bundle, giving fans another way to experience the latest addition to the album’s world.
Directed by Charlotte Rutherford, the official music video begins with Larsson alone in an empty parking lot at dusk. As night falls, her captivating performance transforms the ordinary setting into a vivid, surreal landscape populated by fantastical creatures, striking colors, and dynamic choreography. Blending reality with fantasy, the video reflects the dreamy, escapist spirit of “Blue Moon” while showcasing Larsson’s distinctive performance style.
Larsson first offered fans a glimpse of the video during the second of her two sold-out shows at Los Angeles’ iconic Greek Theatre last month, sparking further anticipation. She teased the visual again the following week during an appearance on Las Culturistas with Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang, describing “Blue Moon” as a “sister” to “Midnight Sun,” underscoring the creative connection between the two songs.
The video arrives nearly a year after the release of ‘Midnight Sun,’ an album that has accompanied Larsson through a remarkable period of international recognition. During this time, she earned a GRAMMY® nomination for the album’s title track, achieved her first Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 with PinkPantheress on “Stateside,” and won two American Music Awards for Breakthrough Album of the Year and Collaboration of the Year. She also received five MTV Video Music Award nominations for “Stateside.”
Larsson has continued to bring the ‘Midnight Sun’ era to audiences worldwide. In 2026, she launched a sold-out North American headline tour and performed at major events, including BBC Radio 1 Weekend and Lollapalooza. She is currently touring Australia, with upcoming stops in the Philippines and Thailand. The album’s universe has also grown through ‘Midnight Sun: Girls Trip,’ a star-studded remix album featuring artists including Shakira, Robyn, Tyla, Kehlani, and PinkPantheress, with Kehlani appearing on the remix of “Blue Moon.”
With the official video for “Blue Moon,” Larsson continues to evolve the visual and creative world of ‘Midnight Sun’, celebrating the album’s impact while giving fans a new way to connect with this era. The release brings the project’s journey full circle, reinforcing the connection between “Blue Moon” and the album that inspired it.
