5 Signs Your Face Wash Doesn’t Fit Your Skin

Different skin types require different face wash ingredients. There are 7 different skin types: sensitive, normal, oily, combination, acne-prone, and dry/dehydrated. Washing your face at least twice a day is recommended. However, you must be careful in selecting face wash and remember to consider the type of facial skin you have. Following are signs that a facial wash does not suit your skin:

1. The skin on your face feels tight

A facial cleanser that doesn’t meet the demands of the skin might make it feel strained or tight, or it can even make it dry and peel. This condition is influenced by the ingredient, which removes natural oils from the facial skin. This wrong face wash causes dehydration, irritability, and tightness in the skin on the face.

2. The face gets dull

Maybe you’ve used a face wash that claims to brighten. However, the results actually dull the face after applying it. This can indicate that it shouldn’t be used on your face. Consistent face wash use could have the negative effect of making the skin condition worse. For instance, the buildup of dead skin cells that develop a blackhead or pimple.

3. Prone to breakouts

The wrong face wash may result in breakouts or blemishes on the chin, cheeks, forehead, and nose. These pimples happen as a result of the active chemicals in it, which cause excess oil or sebum production. This uncontrollable oil production makes it easier for dirt to stick to the skin, where bacteria later grow to form pimples.

4. Early signs of aging

Bad face wash ingredients can remove all essential nutrients from the skin, including elasticity, pH, and oil content. When one of these nutrients is deficient or lost, the condition of the facial skin worsens, and other skin problems worsen. This can cause under-eye fine lines, sagging, dry skin, and the appearance of black spots, and hyperpigmentation.

5. Facial Redness

Extremely sensitive ingredients can cause redness in the face. Aside from redness, you may also feel sore, burned, and itchy. You should stop using it right away and switch to a different kind of face wash that is best suited for your skin type.
