Bingkai Karya — Indonesian singer-songwriter Teddy Adhitya has released his latest single, “Pesona Rahasia,” marking the beginning of a new musical chapter ahead of his upcoming album, scheduled for release in 2027. Drawing inspiration from the pop, R&B, and soul sounds of the late 1990s and early 2000s, the single brings together musical nostalgia and a renewed exploration of his vocal abilities.
Unlike his previous recording processes, which often involved carefully structured arrangements and controlled vocal execution, “Pesona Rahasia” gives Teddy greater freedom to experiment. Through expressive ad-libs, higher vocal registers, and dynamic transitions, he aims to capture the spontaneity and energy of a live performance.
“I usually hold myself back when recording. Everything tends to be carefully planned in terms of execution, but with ‘Pesona Rahasia,’ it actually feels more like performing live,” Teddy explained.
This approach reflects his desire to revisit the music that shaped his formative years. Influenced by artists such as Brian McKnight, Boyz II Men, Rio Febrian, and Marcell, Teddy incorporates elements of classic pop, R&B, and soul into a sound that still represents his artistic identity today.
The single also marks a collaborative effort through .Ploutos, a producer group consisting of Teddy Adhitya, Ray Prasetya, and Vicky Geovaldy. The trio regularly holds workshops and jamming sessions to develop musical ideas together. While Teddy wrote the lyrics, .Ploutos handled the arrangement and production, with Ray and Vicky contributing to the melody and chord progressions.
Beyond its musical direction, “Pesona Rahasia” carries a personal story. Initially considered as a song that could be performed by another singer, Teddy eventually decided to interpret it himself following a meaningful conversation with his late father. During his father’s illness, Teddy once played the song for him and expressed the possibility of giving it to another vocalist. However, his father encouraged him to sing it himself. That moment became an important part of Teddy’s decision to keep the song.
Selected as the opening track for his upcoming album, “Pesona Rahasia” represents the musical direction he hopes to explore further. The 2027 album is expected to bring together different sounds, experiences, and stories that have shaped his journey as a musician. Teddy also expressed interest in making it a self-titled album, although its official title has yet to be determined.
Through this release, Teddy hopes to leave room for listeners to develop their own interpretations. While the song broadly explores how love can nurture and grow hope, its meaning is not limited to a single perspective.
