aespa Becomes First Kpop Girl Group to Attend Cannes Film Festival 2023

aespa has been confirmed to attend the 76th Cannes Film Festival which takes place on May 16-27, 2023. This news was confirmed by SM Entertainment. The presence of aespa makes new history as they are the first K-pop girl group to attend the Cannes Film Festival.

The idols, Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning, will come as brand ambassadors for Swiss Chopard. The luxury jewelry brand has been an official sponsor of the Cannes Film Festival since 1997. However, aespa is not the only K-pop idol to attend the prestigious film festival. Two other singers, Krystal Jung, and BIBI, are also rumored to be attending the Cannes 2023 event as guests.

Krystal attended because she starred in Cobweb, one of the films that will be shown at the festival. Apart from Krystal, the movie also stars Song Kang-ho, Im Soo-Jung, and Jeon Yeo-been. At the same time, BIBI came as an actress in the movie Hopeless, which is also screening at Cannes. The movie stars Song Joong-ki and Hong Sa-bin.
