Bingkai Karya – Award-winning, multi-platinum duo Icona Pop have officially announced details of their fourth studio album, ‘Ritual’, set for release on August 14 via Ultra Records/Iconic Sound Recordings.
Created during a transformative period in the duo’s lives, one that nearly led to their separation, ‘Ritual’ represents Icona Pop at their most honest, liberated, and emotionally fearless. The album is shaped by themes of friendship, self-discovery, motherhood, heartbreak, healing, and joy. Throughout the project, the longtime creative partners turn the dancefloor into a space for release and renewal. ‘Ritual’ captures the sound of two women at the peak of their creative confidence, reclaiming their artistry and inviting everyone to join them on the dancefloor.
Speaking about the project, Icona Pop shared:
“The healing process forces you to slow down and reflect, but you can’t keep dissecting yourself forever. At some point, you have to step back into the world and see what happens. You might make mistakes, but that might be exactly what you need. For us, the dancefloor has always been where we rediscover ourselves and each other. It’s where we can lose ourselves in the music and let everything else go.”
Alongside the announcement, the duo release their infectious new single “Dance To This,” accompanied by an official music video directed by Gustav Stegfors.
Written by the duo and produced by Sebastian Furrer, “Dance To This” channels the raw energy of their early career, fused with sharp, modern production. Driven by confident verses, singalong hooks, booming beats, and pure dancefloor joy, the track captures the feeling of getting lost in the night and finding yourself again through music. With lyrics like “Kinda wanna burn a bridge / Kinda wanna be a bitch / Kinda wanna take a risk / Kinda wanna dance to this,” the song packages chaos, confidence, and emotional release into three minutes of pure Icona Pop energy.
Speaking on the track, Aino said, “The production really reminds me of Icona Pop from the past. It’s something we can perform live, but also play in our DJ sets.” Caroline added, “It’s one of those nights where you find yourself when you go out… it’s that moment when you see yourself dancing and reconnecting with your essence.”
“Dance To This” follows the high-energy title track ‘Ritual,’ featuring Daya, along with its official music video directed by Gustav Stegfors. Exploring themes of survival, movement, and self-discovery, the track reveals a more vulnerable and emotional side of the duo.
