Armand Maulana (GIGI band’s vocalist) released his new single entitled “Rerata” on November 23, 2022. This song tells about happiness, falling in love, hate, sadness, and so on that will happen to everyone, even repeatedly.
“Rerata” is also the original soundtrack for the film directed by Angga Dwimas Sasongko, “Jalan yang Jauh Jangan Lupa Pulang (JJJLP)”. Initially, Armand Maulana only wanted Angga Dwimas Sasongko to work on the music video for “Rerata”. However, Angga Dwimas Sasongko did not agree because he would be shooting a film in London, England. However, Angga Dwimas Sasongko was curious about “Rerata” and Armand Maulana listened to it.
Armand Maulana said that this song is based on his personal experience. Many possibilities pop up in their head, one of which is: Is this vulnerability because they were born in a world that has sophisticated technology, and that makes them prefer to socialize via social media? Until finally, they forget how to interact with people in the real world and become vulnerable?
Armand Maulana hopes that “Rerata” can be a friend for people who are having a hard time living life. “I want everyone to know, especially for those who need healing or are experiencing problems, that all things happening in life are repetitive and that’s normal. Accept it because it is a gift, so that we become stronger and know how to deal with something,” said Armand Maulana.
Trinity Optima Production (TOP) as the label that oversees Armand Maulana’s solo project expressed his satisfaction with the song “Rerata”.
