After releasing “Muak,” which successfully achieved double platinum status and had its music video viewed over 15 million times on YouTube, and “Ekspektasi,” where she collaborated with Raim Laode, Aruma is back with “Hilang Kendali” (Losing Control). Unlike her previous two songs that carried slow melodies, the third single from this talented young woman, born on September 3, 2003, is more upbeat and emphasizes her pop side. With a different vibe and Aruma’s willingness to explore, the release of this song, written by Iqbal Siregar and Denis Ligia from Juicy Luicy, is highly anticipated.
“At first, this song was performed by Juicy Luicy when I received the demo. When Kak Keke Kananta (A&R Sony Music) offered me several song options for my third single, ‘Hilang Kendali’ was the one I liked the most. Because it’s more pop than my previous two singles, we rearranged it to suit my vocal character. Thanks to Kak Kamga, my character in this song could be expressed well,” Aruma explained.
The ITB student revealed that, unlike “Muak” or “Ekspektasi,” her third song is more straightforward in its storytelling and addresses more specific issues. “The single ‘Hilang Kendali’ tells the story of when we like someone, but that person gives unclear signals. However, it turns out that only we have feelings for them, while they don’t. It’s like having a crush!” Talking about her new single, Aruma feels that there’s a meaningful message in it. “This song is not to blame those who have a crush because they were given hope. Anyone who receives signals of affection from someone they like will feel that their feelings are reciprocated. But for those of you out there who like someone but don’t get a response, it’s not the end of the world. Having a crush is natural, so let yourself enjoy that feeling. However, remember to always know your boundaries and not to force the situation.”

Aruma herself never expected that in her music career journey, she would already be releasing her third single. “An incredible achievement.
