Indonesia became a partner country at the Hannover Messe 2023 exhibition in Hannover, Germany. Director General of Information and Public Communication of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Usman Kansong, stated that the largest industrial exhibition in Europe, Hannover Messe 2023, was a great opportunity to attract investors to Indonesia.

According to Director General Usman Kansong, many parties have committed to invest in Indonesia, even before the 2023 Hannover Messe opens.

He said, “Indonesia is following the Hannover Messe or becoming a partner country to attract investment, attracting investors to Indonesia. We hope that there will be more investment from other countries, from Germany and European countries. There has been a commitment of around IDR 30 trillion to invest in Indonesia and God willing, the number will continue to grow.”

At the event, Indonesia displayed the nuances of the Pinisi Ship. The Pinisi ship depicts Indonesia’s journey towards progress through investment and technology development. With the theme: Infinite Journey, Indonesia exhibited various technological innovations at the Indonesian pavilion, including those from the government, educational institutions, and several companies in Indonesia.

Director General of Regional Resilience and International Industrial Access of the Ministry of Industry, Eko Cahyanto, stated that participation in the 2023 Hannover Messe is part of an effort to realize Indonesia as the 10th largest economy in the world by 2030 and Indonesia Gold 2045.

Previously, Indonesia was also a partner country in 1995 and 2021 and this year is the third time that Indonesia has become a partner country at the Hannover Messe.

Besides the Opening Ceremony of the Indonesia Pavilion, there are also a Business Summit, Indonesia Night, and six discussion sessions with themes related to investment, industry, and information technology. The opening ceremony of the Indonesian pavilion on 17 April 2023 will be attended by President Joko Widodo and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

Eko Cahyanto said, “The Indonesian Pavilion was made magnificently to attract the attention of exhibition participants and visitors. We’re showing quite massively, if possible, compared to other pavilions we dominate here, and that’s an attraction too.”
