
Binus University celebrated its 68th graduation ceremony, a milestone event that saw the graduation of over 6,000 students, marking it as the largest graduation gathering in the institution’s history. The ceremony took place both onsite in Malang on November 5, 2023, and at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) from November 18 to 20, 2023. As part of their dedication to Binus @Malang as a digital technopreneur campus, an additional onsite graduation event was held at Grand Mercure Mirama, Malang, where 197 undergraduate students successfully completed their programs with impressive results.
Dr. Nelly, the Chancellor of Binus University, expressed her pride in the graduates, highlighting the institution’s commitment to nurturing talented individuals who will contribute significantly to Indonesia’s future. Among the Binus @Malang graduates, 93.90% completed their programs on time, with 95.93% achieving a GPA above 3.00. Notably, five graduates received the prestigious Summa Cum Laude designation for their outstanding academic achievements, with GPAs ranging from 3.91 to 4.00. Furthermore, 83% of bachelor’s degree recipients have secured employment, with 20% working in global companies or top national organizations, 34% venturing into entrepreneurship, and 1% pursuing further studies.
Dr. Robertus Tang Herman, the Campus Director of Binus @Malang, praised the graduates as future digital technopreneurs who would play a vital role in shaping Indonesia’s destiny. One of the scholarship winners, Gilbert, expressed his deep emotions and gratitude for overcoming challenges and successfully graduating, acknowledging the support of his family, lecturers, and friends.
The Head of LLDIKITI Region VII East Java, Prof. Dr. Dyah Sawitri, commended Binus University and its Malang campus for producing graduates who are not just job seekers but capable workers, emphasizing their significance in contributing to Indonesia’s superior human resources goal for 2045. Through this significant graduation event, Binus @Malang reaffirmed its commitment as a Digital Technopreneur Campus, aiming to empower entrepreneurs with digital technology skills to drive business growth and support the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in Eastern Indonesia.
