Celebrating National Poetry Day 2023 and Reminiscing Chairil Anwar on April 28

National Poetry Day is celebrated on April 28 every year. This special day is inseparable from the figure of a prominent poet in Indonesia, Chairil Anwar. According to the Ministry of Education and Culture’s DITSMP official website, National Poetry Day refers to the anniversary of Chairil Anwar’s death. Thanks to his dedication in the field of literature, Chairil Anwar was named the pioneer of Batch 45. Chairil Anwar’s work has indeed colored the world of literature in Indonesia.
