Coldiac returned with a new song ‘Mendekat Menjauh’ after releasing the song “Summer Breeze” some time ago. The song is also the last single before the release of Coldiac’s upcoming third album.
This time, Coldiac raises an issue that is rarely discussed by many people, namely the fragile side of a man. According to the four-member band, there is a stereotype rooted in society that men should always be strong and should not show their weak side.
“This song is a monologue of a man who is at a low point and has lost something meaningful in his life. He can only keep everything to himself because he knows about the assumption out there that men shouldn’t cry and shouldn’t look weak. This stereotype makes it difficult for many men to deal with the emotional situations they experience,” said Sambadha Wahyadyatmika, one of the vocalists in Coldiac.
“Mendekat Menjauh” was written and produced by Coldiac. The official music video features moving illustrations and a unique concept inspired by the true story of a grandfather who waited for his lover to die. The music video script and illustrations were created by Aji Saputra, producer Revindo Prasetyo Utomo, and directed by Bhima Bagaskara.

“The music video tells the story of a man who is devastated by the loss of something precious in his life and cannot accept reality. On the other hand, from his loved one’s point of view, loyalty and acceptance are a form of love shown for his partner. Here, we hope to understand and realize that men can also be fragile sometimes,” said Bhima, Coldiac’s bassist.
“Mendekat Menjauh” is now available on all digital streaming platforms in Indonesia. The official music video premiered on Coldiac’s YouTube channel on the same day.
