Bingkai Karya – Laufey, a Grammy® Award-winning musician, composer, and multi-instrumentalist, has officially announced her highly anticipated third album, titled “A Matter of Time.” The album is set to be released on August 22, 2025, through Vingolf Recordings / AWAL. Along with the announcement, Laufey has released her new single, “Tough Luck,” which gives a preview of the upcoming album.
“Tough Luck” tells a story about unrequited love, expressing feelings of anger and disappointment. This song shows a different side of Laufey, with a more edgy and emotional tone compared to her previous works. The track features grand orchestral arrangements that add depth to the emotions in the music. A lyric video is also available to help listeners connect with the song’s message.
This album marks one of Laufey’s most personal projects so far. In “A Matter of Time,” she explores a mix of jazz, classical, and pop music with a freer and more open approach. One exciting aspect of this album is her first collaboration with Aaron Dessner, a well-known producer who worked on Taylor Swift’s albums “folklore” and “evermore.” Together with Spencer Stewart, who has been an important part of Laufey’s sound on previous albums, this collaboration brings a new emotional depth to her music.
