Bingkai Karya – Talented young singer Nyoman Paul has officially released his debut album, LUAP. This album marks an important milestone in his music career in Indonesia. Released by Universal Music Indonesia, the album features eight tracks. With a catchy pop sound, it includes three previously released singles: “Tunggu Apa Lagi,” “Alunan Mimpi,” and “Mundur Perlahan.”
The other five songs are brand new and were specially created for this album: “Sekarang dan Selamanya,” “Penjara,” “Luapkanlah,” “Namanya Juga Hidup,” and “Memori Kita.” In the track “Namanya Juga Hidup,” Nyoman Paul collaborates with rapper A. Nayaka in a unique musical partnership.
The album title, LUAP, is simple yet meaningful. It is actually the reverse of “Paul,” his own name. However, Nyoman Paul explains that it carries deeper meaning. He hopes the album reflects his identity as a musician. “Besides coming from my name, the album LUAP expresses the emotions in my heart, poured into my work. It shows my decision to follow a career as a musician with my own unique style,” he said.
In this debut project, Nyoman Paul worked with several well-known producers. “Memori Kita” was produced by Johan Gustafsson and Josefin Glenmark Breman from The Kennel, Sweden. Lafa Pratomo produced “Penjara,” “Mundur Perlahan,” and “Luapkanlah.” S/EEK worked on “Tunggu Apa Lagi” and “Alunan Mimpi,” while Krisna Trias handled “Sekarang dan Selamanya” and “Namanya Juga Hidup.” Lyricists Rahman Sadli Waraiya and Clara Riva also contributed to the album.
“Working with these talented musicians was very exciting,” Nyoman shared. “I learned so much from them, and they were always open to giving helpful feedback—whether about music or other things.”
Overall, LUAP presents a pop sound filled with band-style arrangements inspired by the 2000s era. The songs have catchy melodies and light, easy-to-understand lyrics that reflect Nyoman Paul’s down-to-earth personality.
“These songs use simple chords, so they’re easy to follow, especially for those who enjoy playing music in their free time,” he said. “I hope these songs can connect with people’s everyday lives and become their companions when hanging out with friends.”
The songs also carry strong messages told in a simple and honest way, making them relatable for many listeners.
“I hope LUAP helps me reach new listeners and lets music lovers get to know me better. I also hope this album is well-received by people who have been following my music from the start,” Nyoman Paul added.
All eight songs from LUAP, Nyoman Paul’s first album, are now available on various digital music platforms.
