Indonesian pop band ÉCOUTEZ is delighted to announce the return of their original vocalist, Delia Septianti, after more than a decade. To celebrate this momentous occasion, the band is set to release their latest single, “Kembali” (Return), on October 13, 2023. Delia’s return marks a significant milestone for the band, which has been eagerly awaited by their loyal fans.
After more than ten years away from Écoutez’s creative process, Delia Septianti returns to the music scene with the new single “Kembali.” Delia shared her excitement about the project, particularly the unique challenges she faced during the recording process. She expressed her admiration for the new vocal direction provided by Denny Chasmala, Écoutez’s producer. Delia also emphasized the need for fresh ideas and innovative approaches to her singing without losing her distinctive vocal character.
The song “Kembali” is more than just a return to Écoutez’s roots. Its title reflects the return of the band’s original vocalist to her musical home after a 12-year separation. The song’s artwork features a woman, reminiscent of the band’s first album cover, returning from her journey and being welcomed by three men who represent the three remaining Écoutez members: Fajar ‘Jay’ Fikri (drums), Leo Christian (bass), and Widyo ‘Iyas’ Prastowo (keyboard).

The lyrics of “Kembali,” written by Jay, delve into the theme of temporary separation and the stories of two people who, despite being in relationships with others, have an affair but eventually decide to return to their respective partners. According to the band’s producer, Levi Santoso, the song’s resonant message regarding infidelity aligns with current societal issues, making it a powerful and easy-listening track.
The creation of “Kembali” began with Jay before Delia’s return to Écoutez. During the creative process, the song underwent multiple revisions to match Delia’s unique vocal style. Seeking to enhance the track further, Écoutez enlisted the support of musician, guitarist, and producer Denny Chasmala, who not only contributed his guitar skills but also collaborated closely with the band to perfect the song’s arrangement. This collaboration with Denny Chasmala brought a breath of fresh air to Écoutez’s creative process.
A music video for “Kembali” is set to be released on ÉCOUTEZ’s YouTube channel a week after the single’s official digital release on October 13, 2023. The video was shot in Bangkok, Thailand, where the band has fond memories from the promotion of their second album and their last moments with Delia before her departure.
