Manchester City emerged victorious when they visited the Everton home in the continuation of Week 36 of the 2022-2023 Premier League. The Everton vs Manchester City match which took place at Goodison Park, Sunday (14/5/2023), ended with a score of 0-3.

Man City opened the scoring thanks to Ilkay Guendogan’s goal in the 37th minute. The goal started from Riyad Mahrez’s pass into the penalty box. Ilkay Gundogan, who had his back to goal, managed to control the ball and without turning his body, he succeeded in breaking into the Everton goal, which was guarded by goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
Just two minutes later, Ilkay Guendogan again contributed to Man City’s goal. He provided an assist which was completed by Erling Haaland. Man City built an attack from the left, before Gundogan sent in a cross which was met with a Haaland header.
Man City’s third goal came in the second half, in the 51st minute to be precise. Ilkay Gundogan again listed his name on the scoreboard. The German player fired a free kick towards the top corner of the goal which Jordan Pickford failed to reach.
Two goals against Everton at the same time perfected the evening for Ilkay Guendogan, who played his 300th match with Man City in all competitions. This victory has led Man City to stay in first place in the Premier League standings and away from Arsenal.
The Citizens, nicknamed Man City, are currently collecting 85 points from 35 matches that have been played in the 2022-2023 Premier League. Man City is four points ahead of Arsenal who are in second place. Arsenal must beat Brighton if they want to close the gap on Man City.
