Fahem Presents “Pulang”, A Collage of Fragility and Hidden Dreams

Fahem, a Malang-based singer-songwriter, has published “Pulang.” The lyric video, which was created by Iqbal Febrian, is also available on Fahem’s official YouTube channel.

“Pulang” has numerous significance for Fahem. This is his first song in Indonesian which is new for him because all of his prior works have been in English. “The songs have such beautiful stories and delivery,” observed Fahem. “Incidentally, this song, in my opinion, cannot be (delivered) unless Indonesian is used.”

Instead of discussing romance, Fahem discusses his own frailty this time. “Pulang” is a personal reflection; a reenactment of whatever was going through his mind at the time.”Many of us have big ambitions but are forced to abandon them halfway.” “By circumstance, society, and even close friends,” Fahem explained. “I just wanted to ‘go home’ at one point.” Going home in the sense of time rather than location. “Around 10-15 years ago, when I didn’t have to worry about being this or that and was free to be myself,” he added.

GZZ Records published “Pulang” on their label. GZZ Records is clearly not a foreign name, having issued works by Coldiac, Sal Priadi, and Marigold. This Malang label also released two of Fahem’s earlier songs, “Once More” and “Encounter.”

Many friends were involved in the creative process for this song. The names Sambadha, Derry, Bhima Bagaskara, and Mahatamtama (Coldiac) were created in collaboration with Alvinanda Kurniawan and Decky Anugrah. This music was likewise mixed and mastered by Mahatamtama.
