Bingkai Karya – Amidst a transformative chapter of her life, Indonesian singer-songwriter SIVIA returns with her highly anticipated second full-length album, Kenali, Pahami, Empati, released across all digital platforms on July 30, 2025.
Following the success of her debut album Love Spells (2020) and her introspective EP Camellia (2021), this new Pop/Soul record marks her comeback after nearly three years away from the spotlight years spent embracing new roles as a wife, a mother, and still, an artist holding tightly to her dreams.
But this isn’t just a musical comeback, Kenali, Pahami, Empati is a candid and vulnerable body of work, offering listeners a glimpse into SIVIA’s emotional evolution as a human being. It’s a spiritual and deeply personal journey told through eight interconnected tracks, capturing the weight of responsibility, hope, and the ever-changing roles she now embodies.
“This album is my interpretation of what we must learn as human beings. First, we need to recognize, then understand, and from understanding comes empathy. It’s a process we all go through,” SIVIA shared (July 30).
Unlike her previous work, this album reflects a bolder, more direct side of SIVIA. Every lyric is penned by her alone, stripping away metaphor in favor of raw expression sometimes even laced with quiet rage. It’s also a return to her roots, where vocal harmonies are not decorative but essential. Her choir, Groovia Collective, takes center stage as a unified voice giving the songs deeper emotional impact.
The album’s creative process was spontaneous and organic. Many vocal parts were recorded on the spot without a vocal director, and SIVIA shaped the harmonies herself. This collaborative energy also opened space for Manutized, a fellow choir member and rapper, who brought fresh energy and flow to selected tracks.
Track Journey: A Mirror of Emotional Growth
The album opens with Belajar Jatuh, a reflective entry point into the rest of the project. It’s followed by the high-energy anthem Diam, Kamu Berisik!, the emotional spark behind the album’s conception. Wrapped in funk elements, this track mirrors the noise—internal and external that SIVIA seeks to silence.
Jangan Semau-maumu is a call to check our egos and embrace empathy, while Suara, though the last song written, is the album’s lead single, offering an early glimpse of its emotional thread.
The musical exploration continues with Bangkit (Apa yang Kau Takutkan?), SIVIA’s first track featuring prominent guitar elements a leap out of her comfort zone. Then comes Fasih Merasa, a track inviting listeners to align with the rhythm of The Creator, above the chaos of everyday life.
The emotional peak arrives with Kenali, Terima, Pahami, a meditative acceptance of life’s divine arrangements.
“This track embodies acceptance. It’s my way of embracing everything Allah has set for us,” she added (July 30).
The album closes with Si Bungsu dan Mimpinya, a tribute to the dreams she’s held since childhood. Featuring the voice of a child to represent her younger self, the track ends with a warm whisper:
“Fly high and chase your dreams. Don’t forget, you matter.”
It’s a parting message not just to herself, but to all the “youngest siblings” still chasing hope.
Beyond the Music: Connecting with Listeners Nationwide
Leading up to release day, SIVIA hosted “secret listening sessions” in collaboration with coffee shops in Jakarta, Surabaya, Makassar, and even Tokyo. She also teamed up with over 40 photobooth providers to create exclusive templates inspired by the album inviting fans to capture their emotions through personalized experiences.
More than just a personal release, Kenali, Pahami, Empati is SIVIA’s hope for healing. She believes that within her songs, listeners might find the resolution they’ve been searching for.
