After issuing a documentary entitled ‘Start From Scratch’ telling about the journey of hip-hop music in Indonesia from year to year, and announcing the offline event, FLAVS FESTIVAL 2022 shared the location of the event as well as the line-up. The event will be held on September 10-11, 2022 in Istora Senayan, Jakarta.
FLAVS FESTIVAL 2022 can be enjoyed offline and online in order that they can reach more Hip-Hop, Soul, and R&B music lovers across Indonesia. Under the theme of “Revival”, FLAVES FESTIVAL 2022 carries the spirit of awakening to stand up and hold hands after many things happen continuously.
It is not easy to stand up and revive, but this event tries to spread the optimism that is portrayed in their first phase line-up.
“I feel like Hip-Hop, RnB, Soul, and their subculture only become side (performances) in other festivals, so it is the time for them to have a ‘home’ and its feast, which is in FLAVS,” said Yacko as Program Director FLAVS.
Not only revival, this event also tries to emphasize that those music genres have acculturated with the color of Indonesian traditional music under the spirit of “Bhineka Tunggal Hip Hop”. Hip Hop x traditional music creates a unique and diverse masterpiece in Indonesian Hip-Hop music.
To celebrate FLAVS FESTIVAL 2022, there will be a roadshow entitled “What the F.L.A.V.S”. This roadshow will come to some spots in Jakarta. There will be a Beatbox battle, Freestyle Session, Bboy/Bgirl Battle, Openstyle Battle, Graffiti Battle, and music performances.
