Bingkai Karya-Fontaines D.C. have just dropped their eagerly awaited fourth album, “ROMANCE.” This 11-track album, produced by James Ford, has been getting incredible response from fans and critics alike. Including top ratings from NME, The Guardian, Rolling Stone UK, and more.

“ROMANCE” is the band’s boldest project yet. It showcases new sounds and ideas that have been brewing since their 2022 album, “Skinty Fia.” The band, known for their punk roots, have now evolved into grungier territory, with influences from electronica, hip-hop, and dreamy shoegaze that might surprise fans.

The shoegaze elements from “Skinty Fia are even more pronounced in “ROMANCE,” which takes on a new, deeper feel. Working with producer James Ford, the band has moved away from their earlier retro style. As lead singer Grian Chatten puts it, “We say things on this record we’ve wanted to say for a long time. I never feel like it’s over, but it’s nice to feel lighter.”

The first single from the album, “Starburster,” was released in April and quickly became a hit. It also being named one of the best songs of 2024 by Rolling Stone. It was accompanied by a visually striking music video by Aube Perrie. The follow-up single, “Favourite,” has also become a fan favorite, especially after being performed at their sold-out Brooklyn show and Glastonbury’s Park Stage. Recent singles like “Here’s The Thing” and “In The Modern World,” with its video by Luna Carmoon, offer a peek into the album’s experimental style.

The Tour

Fontaines D.C. have also announced their biggest headline show ever. It is a 45,000-capacity event at London’s Finsbury Park on July 5th, featuring acts like Belfast hip-hop group Kneecap and Australian rockers Amyl and the Sniffers, with more names to be announced. Before that, they played an intimate show at London’s Electric Ballroom on August 22nd to celebrate the album release. They’ll be heading out on a major world tour in 2024, performing sold-out shows across Europe and North America.
