Oddie Octaviadi’s powerful lyrics in “Mesin Masa Depan” discuss the pros and cons of technology.

“This single shows how technology affects our lives today. While technology offers ease and innovation, it also poses threats that can endanger humanity, according to Odaviadi. “Can threaten our humanity,” stated Oddie Octaviadi.

Oddie Octaviadi personally created the “Mesin Masa Depan” music video using generative AI. The futuristic visuals match the song’s premise of technology and mankind. Oddie aims to use AI to create visually appealing and intellectually stimulating content that depicts a future where human and machine boundaries dissolve.

The History of Sic Mynded Sic Mynded, founded in 1993 in San Diego, California, by Rudi Soedjarwo and Oddie Octaviadi, was recognized for its Industrial Metal sound and aggressive lyrics. From the first demo “Room 99” until their 1995 self-titled EP on Regarding Records in San Francisco, their journey span genres and decades. Rotorcorp reissued “Insight” (1995) in Indonesia as “Jelaga” in 1999 due to its popularity.

Sic Mynded released their third album, “Ketidaksempurnaan,” in 2003, solidifying their place in Indonesian alternative music. Oddie joined Gothic Rock band Getah until the end of 2018, ending their journey. Marcell Siahaan remade “Ketika Dunia Berhenti Berputar” in 2017.

Marcell released the song on streaming music outlets in 2018 as part of his EP “Menurut Saya”. The song was also nominated by AMI that year. Sic Mynded’s reunion hinged on this single. After their reunion, Oddie and Rudi came up with new Sic Mynded songs, including “Peace Within” in February 2020.

As the person who produced and designed the basic idea of this song’s arrangement, “I can say that one of the biggest challenges in producing Mesin Masa Depan is how to lay the foundation of a simple, straightforward arrangement that acts as a’red carpet’ to deliver the lyrics’ main message. Another issue was balancing analog and digital parts while maintaining an ideal and highly Sic Mynded hybrid music concept, ” Marcell Siahaan said.

Sic Mynded delivers “Mesin Masa Depan,” a musical exploration of Industrial and Electronic genres while retaining their metal roots.
