Bingkai Karya – Global pop and style icon, as well as former f(x) member, KRYSTAL has released her new soulful R&B single, “PWLT,” continuing her solo music journey.
“PWLT” blends signature Korean pop elements with the soulful sounds of the 1980s and 1990s, while incorporating modern alternative R&B influences. The result is a track reminiscent of artists such as Sade and Janet Jackson. The song serves as the second single from KRYSTAL’s upcoming solo album, following the release of “Solitary” last November. Built around a mellow R&B groove, the title “PWLT” is derived from the song’s central hook, “People Want to Live Together,” exploring themes of connection, purpose, and human relationships.
KRYSTAL collaborated with several renowned Asian musicians on the track. The guitar performance features Kuo-Hung Tseng (Kuo) of acclaimed Taiwanese band Sunset Rollercoaster, while the synthesizer parts were performed by Oh Hyuk, frontman of the celebrated Korean indie band HYUKOH.
KRYSTAL’s latest single was written and produced by legendary songwriter and producer Steve Lindsey, whose extensive career includes collaborations with iconic artists such as Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, and Alexander O’Neal. Lindsey also performed as a keyboardist for Chaka Khan and is recognized for discovering Bruno Mars in the mid-2000s.
Alongside the single release, KRYSTAL has also unveiled the official music video for “PWLT” on her YouTube channel.
KRYSTAL first entered the music industry as a teenage pop star and helped shape the modern K-pop landscape through f(x). With “PWLT” and “Solitary,” she now steps into a new chapter as a solo artist. Both singles showcase a sharper artistic vision and a more mature sound, inviting fans around the world to experience the beginning of her new era.
