With dynamic musical arrangements, “GIMIK” tells the story of the reality of an era that is experiencing rapid change. This condition not only changes technological progress but also changes the human perspective on the standardization of success and achievement.
“So, the song is about the rapid changes in the world. Not only are things getting more sophisticated, but also the measuring tool of success is sometimes seen from how viral a work is heard. And there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s up to us whether we want to follow it or just ignore it and have another coffee. Hehehe..” said the owner of the full name Irvan Fahri Lazuardi casually.
In the process of making “GIMIK”, Ipang collaborated with his childhood friend and partner when he was in a band called PLASTIK, Didit Saad. Didit Saad, who is currently also busy with his band Stars and Rabbit, took the time to work with Ipang again. Didit Saad’s role in the single GIMIK is as a Music Producer.
Besides Didit Saad, GIMIK is also assisted by Dede Kumala as Sound Designer, who is currently also active as a guitarist on every stage and appearance of Ipang Lazuadi and a drummer in the Band BIP which is also fronted by Ipang himself. Then there is also Awi Ahsan who is in charge of mixing the results of this song recording. For mastering, Ipang appointed Indra Qadarsih who is already well-known in the Indonesian music industry. Apart from being a well-known Mastering Engineer, Indra Qadarsih is also known as the keyboardist of the Band BIP.
The song GIMIK carries the concept of rock n roll music with a drum beat and guitar distortion that will make anyone who hears it put their ears on to keep following the song. The musical arrangement is made magnificent with the Brass Section which makes this song feel even more majestic to listen to. David Hulla’s playing in filling the saxophone makes GIMIK feel elegant and sexy. The quality of Ipang Lazuardi’s vocals is no longer in doubt. Also, the writing of lyrics that seem indifferent but are full of meaning have been his trademark since before.
