Kodaline disclosed their latest album entitled “Our Roots Run Deep” that will be out October 14, 2022. The album consisted of 17 singles. Over 80 minutes of music are included on the album “Our Roots Run Deep,” which includes a selection of the band’s most beloved songs as well as 3 insightful covers.
“This album is something we’ve wanted to do for a very long-time, it’s also something entirely new to us,” said Kodaline. “It’s a stripped-down acoustic show with no click, which basically means, it’s very raw and unfiltered. We wanted to try and capture the energy and atmosphere of the night as best we could. It was an intimate show recorded in one of our favorite venues in the world, in Dublin City at home in Ireland. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed playing it.”
David Doyle, a cellist, and David Prendergast, a keyboardist/vocalist, helped give the warm, living room sound new layers of richness and depth. Kodaline is recognized for the soaring, sing-along pop-rock anthems and lush, longing ballads that have topped radio and streaming charts across the world.
The group also includes three intriguing and illuminating covers on this album: a dramatic, brooding rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean,” a largely acapella rendition of Sam Cooke’s soulful “Bring it On Home To Me,” and a taste of “Dirty Old Town,” a nearly Irish standard made famous by The Dubliners and The Pogues.
It may be claimed that the global chart-topping hitmakers and top concert attractions, who are closely synchronized on cinema and television, have in some ways been hidden in plain sight. “Our Roots Run Deep” is a magnificent display of their unadulterated artistry and the lasting impact their music has had on a generation.
